Heavy Equipment Mechanic with AIS Infrastructure

_Lukeville, AZ, USA_ | _AIS Infrastructure_ | _Hourly_ | _37-56 per hour_ | _Full Time_**ABOUT**The AIS Infrastructure Group consists of four heavy civil construction companies. Our services include infrastructure improvement, heavy civil construction, and site development for government and state agencies and private enterprise across the United States. We do a wide variety of heavy civil projects, including highways, bridges, and DOT work, power plants, dams and reservoirs, underground utilities, and more.**GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY**As a Mechanic you'll be responsible for conducting maintenance and repairs on our construction and industrial equipment. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the reliable operation and optimal performance of the equipment. You must possess a strong knowledge of mechanical systems and adhere to AIS Infrastructure's safety standards and protocols. **You'll join our project team who is currently working along the border of Mexico, Texas, California and Arizona building** **roadways and drainage.****MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**+ Perform routine inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on construction and industrial equipment.+ Conduct preventive maintenance activities to identify and address potential issues before they cause equipment failure.+ Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic system problems.+ Replace faulty parts and components, ensuring proper installation and calibration.+ Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, and parts inventory.**REQUIRED JOB SKILLS & ABILITIES**+ Strong mechanical aptitude and technical skills.+ Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, schematics, and technical drawings.+ Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment and hand and power tools.+ Knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.+ Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.**EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE**+ Class B or class A CDL.+ High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.+ Certification or training in mechanical or automotive technology is preferred.+ Minimum of 5 years of experience as a mechanic in the construction or industrial sector.+ Knowledge of construction equipment, such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, and cranes.+ Familiarity with diagnostic software and computerized systems is a plus.**WORKING ENVIRONMENT & CONDITIONS**+ Work primarily in a maintenance shop or field environment.+ Potential hazards include working around heavy machinery, exposure to loud noises, and working at heights.+ Physical demands include standing, bending, lifting heavy objects, and working in various weather conditions.+ Flexible work schedule may be required, including weekends and evenings.+ Travel to job sites may be necessary.**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES**+ Strong knowledge of equipment maintenance and repair procedures.+ Proficiency in using computerized diagnostic tools and software.+ Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.+ Analytical and problem-solving abilities.+ Attention to detail in performing inspections and repairs.+ Ability to work independently or as part of a team.+ Customer service skills when interacting with internal teams and external vendors.**PHYSICAL & MENTAL REQUIREMENTS**+ Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks associated with equipment maintenance and repairs.+ Work in a fast-paced environment with multiple demands and deadlines.+ Handle stressful situations calmly and efficiently.+ Adapt to changing priorities and work under minimal supervision.+ Ability to work in various weather conditions.**OTHER DUTIES**Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
