Director of Project Delivery

We are seeking a hybrid Director of Project Delivery for a client in Annapolis, MD to lead a growing project delivery function within a fast-paced IT services environment. This role will be responsible for building a standardized, high-performing delivery organization while overseeing a team of three project managers and technical delivery professionals.This role will be focused on improving delivery consistency, visibility, and scalability. The ideal candidate is a hands-on operator who can balance day-to-day execution with building systems, processes, and structure to support long-term growth.Key ResponsibilitiesLead client-facing project delivery and implementation efforts, ensuring high-quality, on-time executionServe as an escalation point for delivery issues, risks, and client impactBuild and implement a scalable delivery operating model, including processes, workflows, and governanceDrive capacity planning, resource allocation, and utilization managementEstablish KPIs, reporting, and performance metrics to improve delivery visibility and predictabilityOversee client onboarding delivery, ensuring smooth transitions into ongoing managed servicesPartner cross-functionally with Sales, Engineering, and Customer-facing teams to align delivery with business outcomesLead and develop a team of three project managers and delivery resources, fostering accountability and continuous improvementWhat We’re Looking For7+ years in project delivery within MSP, MSSP, IT consulting, cybersecurity, or professional services environments3+ years leading project managers or delivery teams in client-facing, billable services environmentsExperience owning utilization, delivery margin, or project P&L (preferred)Demonstrated success building or scaling delivery systems, including capacity planning, labor forecasting, and utilization managementStrong analytical mindset with the ability to use delivery data to drive operational decisionsHands-on experience with project management tools (e.g., Monday, Asana, ClickUp, Smartsheet, Jira)Technical fluency across cloud infrastructure, Microsoft 365, networking, cybersecurity, and compliance implementationsProven ability to manage multiple concurrent client implementations in fast-paced environmentsStrong operational leadership skills with the ability to balance hands-on execution and strategic system buildingExperience in private equity–backed or high-growth organizationsExposure to M&A integration and service normalizationWhy This RoleThis role is critical to building a scalable delivery engine that drives:Faster onboarding and revenue realizationImproved client experience and retentionGreater operational efficiency and margin expansionGiven the nature of this search, we will reach out directly to candidates whose backgrounds align most closely with the requirements.
