Radiological Controls Internship Summer 2026Location: Idaho Falls, ID, United States (On-site)Job DescriptionAs an intern, you will apply your knowledge of radiological control principles, procedures, requirements, and related instrumentation. You will work alongside experienced Health Physics Technicians (HPTs) and Radiological Control Technicians (RCTs) to gain hands-on experience and complete work performance tasks identified on the INL Jr. RCT qualification card during your internship.Working ConditionsReporting to the Radiological Controls and Emergency Management team, you will work a 4–10 schedule. This internship is onsite and requires travel to various INL facilities. Start date and internship duration vary based on project needs and intern availability.RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent, and a technical certification in Radiation Protection or a first-year vocational/technical student enrolled full-time at a college or training program learning Health Physics Technologies or Radiological ControlsDOE Core Certificate in Radiation Protection and authorization to work in the U.S. (including CPT and OPT)Application RequirementsCurrent resume or CVUnofficial transcripts (include current and completed degree/certificate programs)Current class schedule and number of credits (if currently enrolled in a program)Compensation and BenefitsUndergraduate Internship: $29.39 per hourPaid holiday time offTravel reimbursement may be available for eligible internsEqual Employment OpportunityIdaho National Laboratory (INL) is an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) employer.
