Position Title: Tax Managing Director (Generalist)Location: New York, NYPosition OverviewWe are seeking a Tax Managing Director with a strong generalist background to lead and grow a diverse tax practice in New York. This individual will oversee complex tax engagements across multiple entity types and industries, serve as a strategic advisor to clients, and play a key role in driving business development and practice expansion.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage complex tax engagements from strategy through execution for individuals and business entities (C-Corp, S-Corp, Partnerships, trusts, estates)Provide high-level tax planning and advisory services across a broad client base and industriesServe as a trusted advisor to clients, building and maintaining long-term relationshipsOversee and review tax compliance, including multi-state and international considerationsManage, mentor, and develop a team of tax professionals, fostering a high-performance cultureDrive business development initiatives, including sourcing new clients, expanding existing relationships, and contributing to firm growthCollaborate with firm leadership on strategic initiatives, process improvements, and practice developmentStay current on tax regulations and ensure the firm’s compliance and technical excellenceRepresent the firm in client meetings, networking events, and industry functionsQualificationsCPA requiredBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or related field10–15+ years of public accounting experience with a broad/generalist tax backgroundProven experience managing complex engagements and leading client relationshipsDemonstrated success in business development and revenue generationStrong leadership, communication, and team development skillsExperience working with a mix of individuals, partnerships, and corporate clients across multiple industriesPreferredExisting book of business or proven ability to build oneExperience in a mid-to-large public accounting firm environment
