Software Developer Manager

Company Overview Our client is a leading group in the provision of mental health services in Puerto Rico, providing services in practices in the health industry, such as telemedicine and home services. Job Summary The Manager Software Engineer works alongside other software developers to provide complex program design, coding, testing, documentation, and maintenance for healthcare related software programs. This key individual actively supervises and collaborates in creation and maintenance of the entire information systems and individual programs, to meet the users’ evolving needs. Responsibilities Supervise and interact with team members to review their work and provide them with the necessary support. Designs and develops complex program logic addressing specific programming needs. Maintains, adapts, and updates existing systems to meet user requirements and to enhance program efficiency. Translates solutions provided by system designers into detailed system and program design specifications. Analyzes, evaluates, and modifies existing or proposed systems and related devises. Modifies and documents program codes, to correct errors or enhance program capabilities. Creates and troubleshoots program codes for existing applications, using APS Healthcare Inc. selected software development tools. Evaluates new and existing programs, to ensure proper performance. Completes lifecycle documentation and maintenance for newly created and existing software programs including changes that reflect new user requirements and error corrections/bugs discovered after testing phase. Complies with all guidelines established by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) and guidelines set forth by other regulatory agencies, where applicable. And all other duties assigned by the manager and/or supervisor. Requirements BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Software Engineering or a related subject Minimum 3+ years of experience in formal academic/technical training in software development. Experience with relational databases, such as, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server or PowerBuilder. Knowledge of C#, C, C ++, Visual Basic, VB.net and relational database. Knowledge of web application development such as JSP, ASP.NET, PHP, Ruby on Rails and building web services. Knowledge of object-oriented analysis and design that includes implementing solutions for the healthcare industry. Personal computer experience should include working with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook at the intermediate level at a minimum.
