Downballot Campaign Director
About the PositionThe Massachusetts Democratic Party (MDP) is seeking a highly experienced and strategicDownballot Campaign Director (DCD) to the 2026 Massachusetts Coordinated Campaign, oneof the most consequential electoral programs in the country.Reporting to Senior Coordinated Leadership, the DCD will lead the downballot efforts to ensurethe democratic wins down the ticket in key legislative races.The DCD will work with statewide officials and their campaign teams to build an integratedoperation that strengthens Democratic turnout and performance statewide.Key ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities include, but are not limited to:Strategic Leadership & PlanningDevelop, draft, and execute a comprehensive 2026 down ballot engagement plan in close collaboration with Party leadership and Senior Coordinated Campaign staff.Translate high-level strategic goals into tactical plans for local field and paid communication efforts.Establish and report clear metrics, timelines, and accountability systems to ensure program success.Participate in strategic discussions with senior leaders about the Coordinated Campaign goals and report back on regional discussions to guide decisions around how we can best support on-the-ground action.Partner & Stakeholder EngagementAlign down ballot partners around shared goals and communicate down ballot needs to Senior Coordinated Campaign Leadership.Coordinate closely with Democratic candidates and their campaign teams to ensure seamless communication, support, and strategic alignment.Program Coordination & ExecutionFacilitate regular cross-team communication to share information, coordinate strategy, and track progress toward goals.Oversee the development of voter contact universes, persuasion strategies, mobilization programs, and turnout operations for down ballot candidates.Ensure the coordinated campaign adheres to all relevant legal, compliance, and reporting requirements associated with those races.QualificationsRequired ExperienceAt least two campaign cycles of experience in electoral, labor, or issue advocacy work, including senior-level leadership.Demonstrated experience managing large groups of stakeholders and/or operating in multi-level staffing structures.Proven ability to coach and develop staff across varied roles and experience levels.Skills & CompetenciesStrong strategic, analytical, and operational planning skills. Proficiency with core campaign technology, including NGP, Votebuilder, GoogleWorkspace, texting platforms, and Microsoft Office.Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with partners, stakeholders, and the general public.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, maintain composure and positivity under pressure, and work long or irregular hours as needed.Compensation & BenefitsSalary is competitive and commensurate with experience.
