We are seeking a Systems Engineer Human Factors to help us make the future of lunar surface mobility in a fast-paced startup environment. As a Systems Engineer Human Factors, you focus on the design and evaluation of human spaceflight systems and the enhancement of the safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of astronaut operations. You will be focused on the Lunar Terrain Vehicle (LTV), the cutting-edge crewed and autonomous mobility platform that will drive NASA astronauts, carry payloads, and build key infrastructure on the lunar surface. The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and assess systems that optimize human performance in spaceflight environments.Key Responsibilities:Apply human factors requirements to spacecraft development and track requirements to completionProvide human systems expertise to the design and development of spacecraft vehiclesConduct Human-in-the-Loop (HITL) testing by developing test plans, conducting data collection and analysis, and demonstrating effective program managementAnalyze test data, generate test reports, and incorporate feedback with vehicle design, crew training, and mission operations teamsConduct specialized analyses, such as hazard analysis, human error analysis, crew task analysis, and vehicle handling qualities, to ensure synchronization of crew needs and capabilities with vehicle performanceSupport development and verification planning/testingRequired Qualifications:Bachelors degree in human factors engineering or a related fieldExperience in human factors engineering, preferably in aerospace or related industriesFamiliarity with human-in-the-loop testing methodologiesTeam-oriented, with excellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent organization and time management skills and attention to detailAbility to multitask and prioritize tasks effectivelyU.S. PersonsPreferred Qualifications:Advanced degree in human factors or related disciplineExperience working with NASAKnowledge of spacecraft systems and operationsProficiency in statistical analysis and human performance modeling toolsAny offer of employment for this position is conditional upon Lunar Outpost receiving theLTVS SubCLIN 1C Awardfrom NASA.
