Specimen Collection Support Lead

The Specimen Collection Support Lead will work closely with Aegis Healthcare Clients, SpecimenCollectors, Sales and Management and travel to multiple locations to Specimen Collectors in theirassigned territory. He or she will on-board specimen collectors, conduct training, and ensure assignedSC's are up to date on all processes and procedures. He or she will also perform designated tasks andattend meetings, ensure site coverage, and support new client setup.The Specimen Collection Support Lead will also collect biological specimens at client sites as needed.Collection duties will include maintaining the integrity of the collection process, maintaining records forreporting purposes, obtaining initial insurance verification information for billing purposes, andpackaging the specimens for shipment. He or she will also utilize and support FLUID (ELR - Electronic LabRequisition) adoption as well as train clients and other team members on the process andimplementation.He or she will also assist with reporting client and SC concerns, maintain alignment with sales, collection,and management teams, coordinate equipment needs in the field, perform SC monitoring, track SCactivities, and address compliance and training gaps.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesManage and lead assigned Specimen CollectorsServe as liaison between RSM, SC Manager, and client to maintain alignmentTravel to clinics in territory to address SC and client needsFoster open communication between the customer, Sales, and SC ManagementOnboard and train Collection Team (Specimen Collectors, Field Service Coordinators, etc.);report training gapsIncrease touch base meetings with new clients as well as train clients on Aegis processes andFLUID (Electronic Lab Requisition - ELR)Document Apollo requests to the SC Manager for access and coverage as requiredEnsure the integrity of each Laboratory Request Form and specimen sampleKeep records of samples shipped and shipping information associated with eachRetrieve results via the Aegis Web Portal and deliver to client(s) as appropriateFollow the standard operating procedures (SOPs) for sample collectionUtilize Electronic Lab Requisitions (ELR) "FLUID" for sample submissionsAnswer questions from client/patients regarding Aegis policiesComplete and maintain required Compliance TrainingComply with all applicable safety requirements including the use of personal protectiveequipment (PPE)Order supplies and manage budget with RSM, SC Manager and ASM as requiredCollaborate with IT and SC Manager to resolve field-related issuesOther Duties & ResponsibilitiesParticipate in process improvements, including process definition, measurement analysis, andimplementation of controlsReview overtime hours and monitor compliance with scope of role standardsParticipate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goalsProvide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skillCoordinate MOTUS communications and follow-up actionsIdentify potential remote processing opportunities and processes to enhance efficiencyOther duties as required and assignedEducation & ExperienceHigh school diploma or GED requiredA minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Field Services Coordinator/Specimen Collector atAegis OR a minimum of two (2) years of external experience collecting and/or coordinatingbiological samplesA minimum of one (1) year of demonstrated leadership experience, which may includementoring, training, coordinating team activities, or leading projects, even in the absence offormal direct management responsibilitiesValid driver's license required (must meet insurability requirements) and ability to travelExcellent communication, professionalism, and organizational skillsAbility to interact and adapt with all levels of team membersProven track record of meeting deadlines and prioritizing workloadAbility to use good judgment and work independentlyAbility to handle multiple tasks without sacrificing qualityMinimum Physical RequirementThe following demands are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfullyperform the essential functions of this job:Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 poundsBend, twist or stoop on a repetitive and continuous basisOperate various business instruments, including computers, printers/scanners/fax machines,requiring manual dexterityMust be able to move continuously from location to location and throughout the assignedterritoryMust be able to remain stationary for extended periods of time, including in a vehicleRead paperwork and computer monitors, requiring visual acuityMust be able to travel extensively/sit in a vehicle for extended periods of timePhysical EnvironmentThe Specimen Collection Support Lead will travel extensively. He or she will perform his or her work in aclinic environment and may be exposed to blood, oral fluids, or urine specimens. Aegis providespersonal protective equipment to its team members for use within the clinic environment.
