Adjunct Instructor of Graphic Design Internship
Summary Of ResponsibilitiesThe instructor for the Graphic Design Internship course will oversee and facilitate students’ professional internship experiences. Responsibilities include coordinating with internship sites, monitoring student progress, maintaining regular communication with interns and employers, and ensuring all course requirements and documentation are completed. The instructor will evaluate student performance based on established learning outcomes, provide timely feedback, and support students in connecting their internship experience to academic and professional development goals. Follows the University academic schedule, and is responsible for recording and submitting grades, and instructs through the LMS, Canvas. Posted syllabi and basic communication with students on expectations is expected.Essential FunctionsPlan, prepare, and deliver lectures, seminars, and/or laboratory offerings to undergraduate students.Develop course syllabi, select instructional materials, and design assessments such as exams, quizzes, papers, etc.Assess student performance, provide timely feedback, and evaluate student learning outcomes to inform teaching practices and curriculum improvements.Engage students in active learning, foster critical thinking skills, and provide opportunities for discussion, collaboration, and hands-on learning.Provide academic support and guidance to students through office hours, feedback on assignments, and mentoring.Adhere to university policies, academic integrity standards, and accreditation requirements related to teaching responsibilities.Incorporate innovative teaching methods, technologies, and pedagogical approaches to enhance student learning and engagement.Other InformationAdjunct Faculty positions are temporary appointments, assigned per semester and on an as-needed basisEducation, Experience And Skills RequiredKnowledge and understanding of disciplinary subject matter at a level adequate for undergraduate -level instruction; written and oral communication skills sufficient to conduct effective teaching activities; ability to interact with students, staff, and faculty in a professional, collegial, and collaborative manner.
