Job Summary
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Production Operator (Mixer) to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe operation of production equipment in a food processing environment. The ideal candidate is responsible for performing all the activities pertaining to mixing ingredients for the production of food products; contributes to the team’s efforts in obtaining production efficiencies following methods and instructions when mixing ingredients. The Mixer must strictly follow workplace Health and Safety and Food Safety programs, processes and procedures.
Mixer I – Can successfully mix 50% of their primary area SKU’s, are fully trained on all machinery and are able to support the mixing team lead with their day-to-day work load.
Mixer II – Can successfully mix 100% of their primary areas SKU’s, are fully trained on all machinery and are able to support the mixing team lead with their day-to-day work load.
Mixer III – Can successfully mix 100% of both their primary area and secondary area SKU’s.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, but are not limited to:
Inspects equipment and tools to be used during the production to ensure the equipment is clean, sanitary and according to our safety standards.
Receives assignment pertaining to measuring, weighing and mixing ingredients, assembling materials and assists in production and/or packaging.
Prepares and/or coordinates preparation of ingredients as detailed in the recipes and batch cards.
Checks all weights and measures of ingredients to ensure accuracy of scaling.
Mixes products as specified in the batch cards and/or recipes.
Coordinates the transfer of batches into product molds and weighing of the filled molds. May coordinate the weighing of the batches in the depositors
Operates following machines/equipment: Mixers, Likwifier, kettles, Hobart Mixers, Turbo Mixer, In Line Mixer, VCM and chopping machines and pallet jacks, as required. Uses tools as knives, calculators, brushes, thermometer and other kitchen utensils.
Ensures consistency quality and coloring of the batches according to product specifications.
Completes batch cards for every batch produced – records weights per batch and processes all batch cards at the end of the shift.
Notifies management of problems with ingredients, raw materials, changes, variations and specifications.
Has the ability to function in a high paced environment and interact cordially with co-workers.
Follow all safety procedures and participate in safety training.
Report any injury or accident immediately to supervisory and/or any unsafe condition.
Performs area housekeeping as required.
Contributes to the team effort by accomplishing related tasks as directed.
Performs only job functions that they have been trained on and fully understand.
Is punctual, on time, and adheres to company attendance policies. Regular Attendance is an essential job function.
May perform other duties as assigned and may be moved between production lines and areas and asked to perform other assignments as needed.
