Position Overview The Non-Ferrous Specialist is responsible for identifying, grading, purchasing, and managing non-ferrous materials including aluminum, copper, brass, stainless steel, and specialty alloys. This role plays a key part in maximizing margins, ensuring accurate material classification, and maintaining strong supplier relationships. Key Responsibilities · Accurately identify and grade non-ferrous metals · Price and purchase inbound materials · Inspect loads and verify material quality · Manage inventory and material segregation · Coordinate outbound shipments and prepare material for sale · Maintain safety and environmental compliance standards · Build and maintain strong supplier and customer relationships · Monitor market pricing trends and adjust purchasing strategies Qualifications · 2+ years experience in scrap metal recycling (non-ferrous focus preferred) · Strong knowledge of non-ferrous metals and alloys · Experience operating yard equipment preferred · Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in outdoor conditions · Strong math and negotiation skills · Detail-oriented and safety-focused · Forklift Experience Required · Clear Drug Screening and Clear Background check Job Type: Full-time Pay: $23.00 - $27.00 per hour Benefits: 401(k) 401(k) matching Dental insurance Health insurance Life insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Work Location: In person
