Job DescriptionEverforth ECS is seeking a Software Engineer (Fortra Experience) to support a customer at Fort Meade, MD.Everforth ECS is seeking a Software Engineer (Fortra Experience) to support multiple U.S. Coalition Mission Partner Environments (MPE) in an operational DOW environment, each with a unique set of data, applications, and information systems. This role is responsible for assisting with designing, implementing, and sustaining a secure Azure-based network within a classified DOW environment supporting virtual MPE network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in secure file transfer, automation, and managed file transfer (MFT) systems, along with solid software development and integration skills. This individual will play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining secure data exchange solutions that support critical business operations.Key Responsibilities IncludeDefine and maintain the classification taxonomy (labels, markings, handling rules, exceptions) and publish through Fortra Policy ManagerIdentify sensitive data and evaluate DC policy violationsConfigure and tune Data Classification policiesEngineer user-driven and automatic classification in Office/Outlook with mandatory prompts and save/send enforcementAdditionally, the candidate has experience in Data Classification and hands-on experience with Fortra Titus DCS at an enterprise scale (taxonomy, Policy Manager, O365/Outlook enforcement). The Software Engineer reports to the Chief Architect and joins a multidisciplinary organization that delivers excellence in cloud-native environments.Has prior exposure to DoD systems and demonstrates some technical knowledge and experienceDesign, develop, and maintain solutions leveraging Fortra products (e.g., GoAnywhere MFT, Globalscape EFT, or other Fortra platforms)Implement secure file transfer workflows, automation processes, and data integrationsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions Monitor and troubleshoot MFT processes, ensuring reliability, performance, and securityDevelop scripts and custom integrations using languages such as Python, Java, or PowerShellEnsure compliance with security standards and best practices (e.g., encryption, authentication, data protection)Maintain documentation for systems, processes, and configurationsSupport upgrades, patches, and system enhancements for Fortra platformsExperience with classification, releasable labels, data tagging, labeling - Microsoft application - Word, Excel, etcOther duties, as assigned.Salary Range: $150,000 - $190,000General Description Of BenefitsRequired SkillsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)Active DoW Secret clearance required.5+ years of software engineering or systems integration experienceHands-on experience with Fortra products (such as GoAnywhere MFT or similar)Strong understanding of file transfer protocols (SFTP, FTPS, HTTPS, AS2)Experience with scripting or programming (Python, Java, PowerShell, etc.)Familiarity with APIs, REST/SOAP services, and system integrationsKnowledge of security best practices and compliance standardsStrong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities, with a proven ability to weigh the relative costs and benefits of potential actions and identify the most appropriate solution.Highly developed interpersonal and oral/written communication skills, with the ability to effectively and professionally interact with a diverse set of stakeholders (from peers to end-users to executive management).Desired SkillsFortra/Titus administrator training or certificationsExperience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)Experience with database systems (SQL Server, Oracle, etc.)Relevant certifications in security or Fortra technologiesActive DoW 8140 IAT II or Level III certification (Sec+ preferred or equivalent also acceptable) or ability to obtain certification within 12 months.#EverforthECS1ECS Federal LLC is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate or allow discrimination on the basis any characteristic protected by law.
