GY6 is a Small Business Administration-certified, Native Hawaiian Organization-Owned, 8(a) Small Business that provides services and solutions in the areas of Environmental Services, Information Technology Services, Healthcare Services and Professional and Technical Services to the Department of Defense and other Federal agencies.GY6 is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Kina'ole Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit established to benefit Native Hawaiian communities.You will receive a comprehensive benefits package that includes:Health insuranceDental insuranceLife insuranceProfessional training reimbursement401KDisability insurance...and much, much more!Job Description: The Project Superintendent will assist in the overall administrative and technical direction of a project.Duties and Responsibilities:Plan and coordinate departmental activities.Resolve personal and project related problems.Ensure all company and project policies, procedures and standards are maintained.Maintain liaison with client, subcontractors, engineering, and construction manager.Provide administrative direction to various staff departments under position's responsibility.Approve and authorize new hires, wage recommendations.Represent the company and/or project in meetings with the client, subcontractors, etc. as required.Assure total compliance with EEOC laws, rules, and regulations. Report any infractions to management immediately.Assist the Legal Department with Labor Relations and resolving disputes.Supervise and technically direct superintendents assigned to area of responsibility.Monitor other contractors' activities and progress.Assume total project supervision responsibilities in Construction Manager's absence as required.Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent required. A combination of college level or continuing education in construction technology and/or engineering related curricula plus ten (10) years' experience preferred. The required levels of the Supervisors Academy must be completed within 90 days of hire or promotion to this position.Minimum 10-15 years' experience in petrochemical, power generation or heavy industrial construction technology, methods, equipment, tools, and work procedures.Thorough knowledge of construction technology, scheduling, equipment and methods plus hands-on experience in craft supervision and labor coordination required.Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing plus motivational skills.
