Every day is spent striving towards our mission of creating the best real estate experience through our family of services.About the RoleThe Assistant Controller works closely with and under the direction of the Controller to support the full scope of accounting operations for the brokerage. This is a hands-on, detail-oriented role focused on execution and accuracy — contributing to the month-end close, preparing journal entries and reconciliations, and supporting financial reporting and compliance processes led by the Controller. The ideal candidate brings a strong technical foundation, a willingness to dig into the work, and a genuine drive to learn, improve, and grow. This is a growth role for a candidate who is ambitious, energetic, and looking to plant roots, build long-term within the organization, and advance toward a Controller-level position over time.Key ResponsibilitiesAccounting Operations & Month-End Close Assist the Controller in executing the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processPrepare and post journal entries accurately and on schedulePerform account reconciliations and support the resolution of reconciling itemsSupport accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll accounting functions as directedAdhere to accounting policies and the chart of accounts discipline across business linesFinancial Reporting & Compliance Assist in the preparation of internal financial statements and management reporting packagesPrepare supporting schedules and audit-ready workpapers under the direction of the ControllerSupport external audit coordination and respond to auditor requestsAssist with tax compliance support and liaison to external tax advisors as neededContribute to maintaining GAAP compliance across entities and business linesProcess Improvement & Technology Identify and communicate inefficiencies in accounting workflows and support implementation of improvementsParticipate in ERP and accounting system initiatives as directedContribute to the documentation and maintenance of accounting policies and internal controlsAbout YouBachelor's degree in Accounting or FinancePrior progressive accounting experience required; public accounting experience strongly preferredCPA license or active candidacy is preferredStrong working knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standardsHands-on experience with journal entry preparation and account reconciliationsProficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skillsHigh attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to meet recurring deadlines without exceptionA self-starter who actively seeks answers, takes initiative, and does not wait to be directedA demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and a passion for learning and implementing new technologies in creative and practical waysExperience in real estate, financial services, or a multi-entity environment preferredWhat We Offer401kHealth, Dental, and Vision InsuranceLife InsurancePaid Parental LeaveFlexible Spending AccountPowered by JazzHR
