About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cisco Network Engineer to join our team in Honolulu, HI. This critical role involves providing operational expertise and support for the Command-and-Control Support System (C2S2) networks. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting a complex network infrastructure that spans multiple enclaves with varying security classifications. Acting as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), the engineer will ensure the integrity, security, and efficiency of network operations. The role offers an excellent opportunity for a seasoned professional to work on mission-critical systems, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and contribute to the security and stability of vital government networks. The position may require occasional after-hours and weekend work to support scheduled and unscheduled outages, ensuring uninterrupted network performance and security.
Qualifications
Active TS/SCI clearance.
Must meet the Intermediate Proficiency Level qualifications in accordance with DoD 8140.03-M.
Possess at least one of the following 8570 IAT-II certifications:
CCNA Security
CySA+ (Cybersecurity Analyst)
GICSP (Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional)
GSEC (GIAC Security Essentials Certification)
Security+ CE
SSCP (Systems Security Certified Practitioner)
Current Cisco Certified Networking Professional (CCNP) certification.
High School Diploma or GED required; advanced certifications or degrees preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of DoD network engineering experience or 8 years of total network engineering experience.
Experience managing Cisco Routers, Switches, Firewalls (Firepower), Cisco ACI, and ISE.
Proficiency with Palo Alto firewalls and supporting tools such as SPLUNK, ACAS, WhatsUpGold, and F5.
Experience supporting VMware NSX and extensive use of Microsoft Visio and Office tools.
Ability to carry up to 40 pounds to support installation activities.
Flexibility to work outside regular hours, including weekends, to ensure network stability and security.
Responsibilities
Maintain, install, update, and secure network environments utilizing a broad range of Cisco products including IOS, routers, Layer 2 switches, Access Layer switches, ISE, Firepower, and ACI.
Manage critical network components such as F5 load balancers, Palo Alto firewalls, VMware NSX, and ServiceNow platform integrations.
Lead network projects with minimal supervision, ensuring all devices and applications are patched, secured, and operating efficiently.
Perform DISA Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) validations to ensure compliance with security standards.
Manage cable systems, develop workflows for Cisco-based assets, and utilize ACAS to monitor and improve security postures.
Collaborate with developers and technical teams to identify workflow requirements and develop solutions within ServiceNow.
Configure and reconfigure network applications, maintain LAN/WAN environments, and support overall network security initiatives.
Process IT service requests and troubleshoot network issues promptly to ensure minimal downtime.
Create and maintain detailed network diagrams, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and lifecycle documentation for network devices.
Generate comprehensive monthly status reports for the Contracting Officer\'s Representative (COR)-appointed Technical Assistant (TA).
Support scheduled and unscheduled network outages by working after hours and weekends as needed to maintain operational continuity.
