Survey Party Chief and Survey Crew, Somerset, PA OfficeThe EADS Group, Inc. is seeking experienced applicants for pipeline Survey Party Chiefs and survey crews for pipeline survey assignments in the northeastern United States and potentially in various other locations. These assignments require travel and dependability. Participation in DOT drug testing is required. Position and pay rate are based on qualifications.Survey Party Chief Job Summary:Successful candidates will work primarily in the field as Party Chief of a one, two or three person crew. A minimum of 3 years' prior survey crew chief experience is required.Survey Party Chief must have the ability and knowledge to accurately and efficiently perform the following tasks including but not limited to:Construction StakingTopographical SurveysBoundary SurveysWell Connect Pipeline SurveysPipeline Route StakingPipeline As-built SurveysProficient operation of GPS and Total StationKnowledge and ability to interpret engineering plans accuratelyPerform field calculations to determine horizontal and vertical locations for needed data pointsMaintain Baseline standards in survey notes, point descriptions, and calculationsPrepare clear and concise project task documentation for the entire team's benefitProvide field documentation in anticipation of PLS's and/or office support's needsReceive and follow direction from survey crew liaison and project managersUpload and download data dailyDirect and supervise work of subordinate members of surveying partiesCommunicate to manager relative work load and plan workMaintain: survey equipment, vehicles, batteries, and consumables inventory in storage and in vehicleMake surveying decisions, document rational for training/back up purposesLearn and perform research and other job related tasksSurvey Technicians will assist with operating and maintaining equipment to gather and process data for pipeline surveying. Applicants must have:Good math skills and be able to do field work2-3 years experience as an Instrument technician is desired.Must have the ability to operate survey instruments specifically including Pipeline Locators, Level, Total Stations, Data Collectors, and GPSShould be proficient in Construction Stakeout, GPS Static, Gas Pipeline Preliminary Survey, and As-Built surveysMust be able to perform moderate lifting, standing, and walking for extended periods of time and working in all types of outdoor weather conditions.Survey Field/Rod will assist with maintaining survey equipment, carry supplies, clear brush and provide other assistance as necessary to the Survey Party Chief.
