Learn more at www.meduitrcm.com.About The RoleThe Database Engineer is responsible for designing, optimizing, and evolving large-scale MySQL database environments in a high-volume production setting. This role ensures scalable data structures, high-performance query execution, and reliable database operations across multi-terabyte systems. The Database Engineer partners with engineering, data, and analytics teams to modernize database architecture and support downstream reporting and data platforms.Title: Database EngineerLocation: Remote – United StatesSchedule: Full-time, First Shift, Monday – FridayDepartment: Technology/EngineeringCompensation: $95,000 to $120,000Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and evolve MySQL schemas to support scalable, multi-tenant architecturesDefine and enforce database design standards including indexing, partitioning, and performance optimizationOptimize complex SQL queries and resolve systemic database performance issuesImplement and automate database change management, schema deployments, and migrationsMaintain replication, failover, and disaster recovery processes to ensure high availabilityMonitor performance, troubleshoot production issues, and ensure data integritySupport cross-platform environments including MSSQL and Snowflake integrationsCollaborate with engineering and BI teams to align data structures with reporting and analytics needsWork within Jira workflows and use GitHub for version control and documentationRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience)Minimum 5 years of experience working with relational databasesStrong experience with MySQL design, performance tuning, and optimizationExperience supporting large-scale or multi-terabyte database environmentsStrong SQL skills with a focus on query performance and optimizationExperience with replication, high availability, and disaster recoveryExperience with automation and Git-based workflowsPreferred QualificationsExperience with database migration and change management tools (e.g., Flyway, Liquibase, Grate)Familiarity with Snowflake and MSSQL environmentsExperience designing multi-tenant database architecturesScripting experience (Python, Bash, or similar)Experience in healthcare or revenue cycle managementExperience supporting high-volume production systemsEmployment EligibilityCandidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hireThe company does not provide employment visa sponsorship for this positionAs a condition of employment, a pre-employment background check will be conductedAt this time, we are unable to consider candidates residing in the state of New York for this positionWhat We OfferComprehensive paid training Medical, dental, and vision insurance HSA and FSA available 401(k) with company match Paid Wellness Time and Holidays Employer paid life insurance and long-term disability Internal growth opportunities Meduit is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
