Supervisor, Process Development Engineering
Overview
In this role you will lead daily media, buffer, and stock solution preparation to support GMP-ready manufacturing for cell therapy. You will manage a hands-on team, collaborate with cross-functional groups to improve processes, and drive automation and continuous-improvement initiatives. The position emphasizes reliable operations, quality output, and readiness for scale-up. You’ll contribute to a culture of learning and deliver impactful support for patients through robust manufacturing readiness.

ResponsibilitiesSupervise daily media, buffer, and stock solution preparation, including planning, prioritization, troubleshooting, and issue escalationCoach, train, and develop team members to enhance skills and accountabilityEnsure consistent, accurate, high-quality output by following standard work and quality requirementsPlan staffing and resources to meet customer needs and maintain reliable operationsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to support readiness, scalable practices, and business prioritiesDrive continuous improvement, lean initiatives, and automation to boost efficiency, scalability, and data visibilityMaintain GMP-ready compliance, safety, documentation, investigations, CAPAs, and a collaborative team environment
Key requirementsKnowledge of media, buffer, and stock solution preparation in laboratory, pilot-scale, or biopharmaceutical settingsUnderstanding of GMP/GMP-ready operations, including documentation, data integrity, deviations, change controls, and CAPAsWorking knowledge of aseptic processing, cell culture support, scale-up, and laboratory safety practicesAbility to lead daily operations, including prioritization, scheduling, troubleshooting, and escalation managementDemonstrated people-leadership skills, including coaching, training, development, and accountabilityStrong problem-solving and continuous-improvement skills, including lean principles, waste reduction, and process optimizationStrong organizational, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skillsPreferred: experience with cell or gene therapy manufacturing, automation, digital manufacturing systems, and Industry 4.0 toolsleadershipcoaching and developmentcommunicationmedia preparationbuffer preparationstock solution preparation
