Jennie Joiner with The Forum Group PNW is partnering with a growing, collaborative organization in Eugene to hire a Controller who will serve as a key member of the leadership team. This is a highly visible role reporting directly to the President/CEO, with ownership over the company’s financial operations and a strong voice in strategic decision-making. You will lead a small team while also remaining hands-on, particularly in the near term as processes are refined and improved. This role will play a critical part in cleaning up and optimizing accounting processes, reducing month-end close timelines, and leading an upcoming ERP implementation.Key ResponsibilitiesOwn the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting in accordance with GAAPPrepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statementsManage general ledger, reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close (goal: reduce from ~15 days to 5 days)Oversee AP, AR, payroll, and cash management functionsLead budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis in partnership with leadershipProvide actionable financial insights to support strategic decision-makingMaintain and strengthen internal controls and accounting processesServe as primary liaison with external partners (CPA, payroll provider, HR partner, auditors)Support audit and tax processesManage and develop a small accounting team (2 direct reports + international staff support)Oversee light HR administration in partnership with an external HR firm (Xenium)Participate in contract review and operational decision-makingLead or support ERP system implementation (planned for later this year)Leverage AI tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot) to improve reporting, analysis, and efficiencyDrive continuous process improvement across accounting and financeWhat We’re Looking For7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadershipBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldStrong knowledge of GAAP and financial controlsExperience managing full-cycle accounting and financial reportingHands-on leadership style with the ability to operate both strategically and tacticallyExperience with ERP systems (implementation experience a plus)Advanced Excel skills and strong technical aptitudeInterest in or experience using AI tools to enhance productivity and insightsStrong communication skills with the ability to partner cross-functionallyTeam StructureReports to: President/CEODirect Reports: 2 (Accounting/Operations + Staff Accountant)Additional support: International accounting staffThis a unique opportunity to step into a leadership role where you will have a true seat at the table, the ability to influence strategy, and the autonomy to build and improve processes in a growing organization.
