Job Title: Jr. Video Editor/Animator (freelance)Reports To: Director of VideoRole: Creative + ExperienceLocation: Minneapolis, HybridOVERVIEWAs a Junior Video Editor/Animator, you are responsible for assembling video footage, applying artistic editing techniques, developing captivating motion graphics and creating finished, broadcast-worthy projects that accurately reflect the vision of the creative campaign or deliverable. You’re knowledgeable about modern video editing, animation techniques and software. Visualizing directional concepts and work according to timing, often having multiple projects and workstreams, ultimately crafting best-in-class deliverables for digital, broadcast, social and many other media types.RESPONSIBILITIES & SKILLS Assemble footage; transfer or upload to a computer or serverFollow a script, storyboard or outlineInput sound, motion graphics and visual enhancements to footage, which may include selecting music and editing voice-oversMac-proficient with excellence in the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite (After Effects, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.); knowledge and strong motion effects competencyImproving and correcting lighting, coloring and faulty footageKnowledge of the post-production process for video and animationWork closely with creative team to present a final product that matches the overall visionEnsure brand identity and message consistency across channelsMeet client objectives, values, budgets and deadlinesKeep up with the latest trends, strategies and technologiesUnderstand the multiple formats, resolutions and timing restrictions for various placementsEDUCATION & EXPERIENCE1-2 years of relevant experienceAgency or production house experience preferred; digital experience an added plusDigital portfolio with body of work examplesVideo production experience a plus, not required
