We are hiring two early-career engineers to build production AI agents and automations — both on low-code platforms (Microsoft Copilot Studio, Power Automate, AI Builder) and in pro-code (Python, Java, TypeScript) where the problem demands it.This is a builder role, not a support role. You will own agents end to end: talk to the business user, understand the process, design the flow, build it, test it, and take it to production. What You'll DoBuild and ship AI agents and automated workflows on Microsoft Copilot Studio, Power Automate, and AI Builder for business teams across Commercial, Logistics, Terminals, and FinanceDevelop pro-code components where low-code hits its limits — API integrations, custom connectors, data extraction services, MCP tool serversSit with business users to understand a process before automating it, and translate what you hear into a working designWrite clean, reviewable code and follow SDLC discipline: version control, code review, testing, CI/CD, structured deployment across DEV/UAT/PRODInstrument what you build — logging, error handling, and enough observability that someone else can diagnose it at 2amParticipate in Agile ceremonies, keep your work visible in Jira, and communicate status without being chasedRotate through our internal AI support channel, fielding agent-development questions from business users across the companyMinimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related technical fieldApproximately 6 months of professional software engineering experience (internship, co-op, or full-time)Working proficiency in at least one modern programming language — Python, Java, TypeScript/JavaScript, C#, or similarDemonstrated understanding of software engineering fundamentals: data structures and algorithms, complexity reasoning, API design, relational databases and SQLFamiliarity with the software development lifecycle — requirements, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance — and with Git-based version controlAbility to explain technical work clearly to a non-technical business audience, in writing and verballyStrong analytical skills: able to decompose an ambiguous business process into concrete steps, inputs, outputs, and failure casesAuthorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the futurePreferred QualificationsExposure to LLM application development — prompt engineering, RAG, embeddings and vector stores, agent frameworks (LangChain, Spring AI, or equivalent)Experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Copilot Studio, AI Builder, Dataverse) or another low-code automation platformCloud experience with AWS or Azure; containerization with Docker; CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or equivalent)Experience building or consuming REST APIs and integrating disparate systemsCoursework, projects, or internship work involving workflow automation, document/data extraction, or conversational interfacesCloud certification (e.g., AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, Microsoft PL-900/AI-900)What We're Looking ForWe care less about the specific stack on your resume than about three things:You finish things. You can take a vague ask and return with something working, without needing the problem pre-solved for you.You communicate. You can walk a business stakeholder through what you built and why, and you flag problems early rather than late. You learn fast. The agentic tooling landscape changes every quarter. We expect you to pick up new platforms on your own and form opinions about when to use them. Why join Sonata Software? At Sonata, you´ll have an outstanding opportunity. The chance to use your skills and imagination to push the boundaries of what´s possible. To build never seen before solutions to some of the world’s toughest problems. You´ll be challenged, but you will not be alone.
