Service Technician - HVAC

Since 1996, MSS has taken pride in retaining some of the best talents in the industry by promoting a culture of respect, collaboration, and empowerment.Role And ResponsibilitiesInstall, troubleshoot and startup commercial HVAC including: Commercial DX equipment up to approximately 25 tons, intake/exhaust fans, split systems, heat pumps, water source heat pumps, mini-splits, electric motor controls, light commercial furnaces, unit heaters, economizers, humidifiers, air compressors.Log HVAC equipment such as refrigerant circuit, electrical circuit, condition of equipment, etcDrive to and from customer sites as neededCommunicate with Team Lead, Coordination Staff, Sales Staff and CustomersComplete assigned tasks with minimal call-backsComplete all paperwork in an accurate and timely mannerObserve, report and correct unsafe work environmentsWill be included in on call rotation as needed according to business volume and requirementsTake care of and maintain company tools and company vehicleOther such duties and responsibilities as assigned by the company from time to timeQualifications And RequirementsProficient with troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining commercial HVAC equipmentKnowledge of basic refrigerant cycle, various heating components and air distribution systems.Proficient with brazing, leak checking and the evacuation processUnderstands mechanical drawings and equipment specificationsAbility to abide by basic safe work practices2+ years of commercial HVAC service experienceUniversal EPA CertificationAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operations manual, and written directions.Ability to write reports.Ability to show up on time, ready to work and in uniformAbility to communicate with both internal and external customersMust have a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving recordMust successfully pass a background check and drug testPhysical Demands: Occasional sitting, frequent stooping, crouching, kneeling, balancing and climbing. Constant standing, walking, reaching and gripping. Vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to talk and hear. Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
