Software engineers contribute across the full development lifecycle, including software requirements, design, coding, testing, simulation, and platform integration.You will work in Agile development environments alongside engineers and subject matter experts across Operational Analysis, Software Engineering, Mission Systems Hardware, Flight Simulation, and other engineering disciplines.## Key Responsibilities* Support software development on Agile teams integrating and implementing solutions onto aerospace and defense platforms.* Develop high-fidelity simulation and environment software and toolsets that enable rapid development, testing, and deployment of high-quality software solutions.* Apply analytical problem-solving skills to resolve technical problems for Boeing and its suppliers.* Apply engineering skills to deliver improved weapon system capabilities to customers.* Analyze systems and technical challenges using engineering principles.* Continuously improve engineering processes, tools, and development practices.* Document engineering practices to support replication, scaling, and continuous improvement.* Collaborate with program stakeholders and subject matter experts across multiple engineering disciplines.* Contribute to software requirements, design, coding, integration, and testing activities.* Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers.* Support mission systems, avionics, flight simulation, and related software development activities.## Required Qualifications* 4+ years of professional software development experience with one or more of the following programming languages:* Ada* C* C++* C#* Java* Python* 3+ years of experience working on projects that use software development methodologies.## Preferred Qualifications* Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited program in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or another technical discipline.* 5+ years of higher education and/or related work experience. Higher education may include college, university, technical school, licensing programs, or certification programs.* Current U.S. security clearance or a U.S. security clearance held within the past 24 months.* Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate with stakeholders across different backgrounds and skill levels.* Experience developing embedded real-time software.* Experience developing models and simulations.* Experience developing Operational Flight Program (OFP) software for aircraft platforms.* Experience working with Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS).* Experience with Object-Oriented Analysis and Design (OOAD) methodologies.* Experience with Agile software development.* Experience with open architecture constructs such as Open Mission Systems (OMS) and Open Communication Standard (OCS).* Experience utilizing the Universal Command and Control Interface (UCI).## Technical AreasThe role may involve software development and engineering across:* Mission systems software* Avionics software* Embedded real-time systems* Aircraft platforms* Flight simulation* Software modeling and simulation* Operational Flight Program (OFP) software* Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS)* C, C++, C#, Java, Python, and Ada* Agile software development* Open Mission Systems (OMS)* Open Communication Standard (OCS)* Universal Command and Control Interface (UCI)## Work LocationDaytona Beach, Florida, United States — 100% onsite.
