Commercial Construction Estimator (Preconstruction Team)Wilmington, North Carolina areaUp to $120K + Bonus + Full BenefitsLooking for a Commercial Construction Estimator who enjoys the front-end strategy of projects — not just pushing numbers.This is a true preconstruction role where you'll be involved from early budgeting through GMP, working closely with leadership, clients, and design teams.This team handles a mix of healthcare, education, commercial, and institutional work, with strong involvement in design-build and negotiated projects.What You'll Be DoingPreconstruction & EstimatingPerform quantity takeoffs and build detailed cost estimatesDevelop budgets from conceptual through GMPReview drawings, specs, and project documentsIdentify scope gaps, overlaps, and riskStrategy & CollaborationWork with owners, architects, engineers, and internal teamsSupport value engineering and cost-saving strategiesHelp shape procurement and bid strategiesContribute to project buyout and handoffWhat They're Looking For5+ years of commercial construction experience (estimating or precon)GC experience preferredExperience with projects like healthcare, education, commercial, or industrialStrong ability to read plans across all disciplines (arch, structural, MEP, civil)Experience with estimating tools (Destiny/Beck a plus, not required)Strong Excel and analytical skillsWhy This Role Stands OutStrong backlog of negotiated + design-build workInvolvement early in the project lifecycle (not just bid day)Exposure to a wide range of commercial project typesCollaborative team environment with direct leadership accessClear growth path within preconstructionCompensation & Benefits$120K–$130K base (depending on experience)Bonus potentialFull benefits packageCareer advancement opportunitiesIf you enjoy the strategy side of construction and want to be more involved early in projects, this is worth a conversation.
