We are scaling operations to support broader commercial launch and production excellence. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will support the development, validation, and scale‑up of manufacturing processes for our innovative surgical device – directly contributing to product quality, efficiency, and patient outcomes. What will you be doing? Lead the development and optimization of manufacturing processes for advanced soft tissue repair device systems Partner with Research and Development and Quality teams to support design for manufacturability and ensure robust production processes Develop, validate, and implement equipment, fixtures, and tooling for assembly and inspection Support the transfer of processes from development into high volume manufacturing Execute root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to address production challenges Support process validation, change control activities, and documentation in compliance with regulated medical device standards What will you need to be successful? Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering such as Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial or a related field Experience: Entry level to two years of experience in manufacturing engineering or process development Experience with CAD tools such as SolidWorks is preferred Competences: Familiarity with regulated environments such as medical devices is preferred Strong problem‑solving skills and experience with continuous improvement tools such as Lean or DMAIC Ability to support process development and validation activities with guidance You. The anticipated base compensation range for this position is $65,000-$97,500 USD annually. The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job‑related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role at Smith + Nephew. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
