Meat Wrapper
Position Summary:
Assist customers and wrap retail cuts of meat for sale. Role model and demonstrate the Company’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety of self and others.
Fred Meyer also requires that all associates perform all tasks in a safe manner consistent with corporate policies and state and federal laws.
Essential Job Functions:
Model “Customer 1st” behavior; deliver and encourage other associates to deliver excellent customer service Wrap meat
Maintain cases and work area, including stocking, restocking, and cleaning
Answer telephones/pagers, when necessary
Promote and follow Company initiatives
Comply with all safety guidelines and standards
Maintain meat code dates according to Company policy
Rotate meat products by date code
Complete the following as part of daily routine: o Pull meat case for dates, wet and/or torn packages, unsellable product o Wipe shelving and cases while pulling case
o Write fill list for map grind (pre-priced and pre-packaged items), collect, price, and fill product o Face freezer
o Wrap and price store-produced product, as available, throughout the day and fill product o Write specific list for frozen case; collect and fill product
o Afternoon pull – pull meat case for items needed to be reworked or marked down for evening business
Generate pricing signs weekly for upcoming ad

Minimum Position Qualifications:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) plus a minimum of two years of experience as an apprentice meat wrapper and six months of experience as a journeyman meat wrapper; or combination of relevant education and experience
Minimum 18 years of age
Ability to pass drug test
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work weekends on a regular basis, work any shift and work overtime as needed
Accuracy/attention to detail
Familiarity with meat cutting and wrapping terms and processes
Any licenses or certificates required by federal and/or state
Desired Previous Job Experience:
Knowledge of Fred Meyer policies, procedures, and organizational structure
Familiarity with Toledo scale system
Related retail experience

Pay: $16.00 - $21.85 per hour
