Elementary Summer School Principal

Ulster BOCES is seeking an outstanding educator to serve as Building Principal for our Elementary Summer School Program in Ellenville, NY. This half-day program will serve students Monday - Friday, July 13 - August 7, 2026. Must be able to attend orientation on July 8 and 9. Full commitment to the entirety of the program is necessary. The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise as an instructional leader with an emphasis in literacy, as well as, have experience in working effectively with elementary children and their parents/guardians. In addition, the successful candidate will need the ability to foresee managerial and administrative challenges and to use creativity, ingenuity and good judgment to resolve challenges in a productive manner. The daytime commitment is Monday - Friday from July 13- August 7, 2026.SPECIFIC DUTIES :Participate in hiring staffFacilitate professional development for staffSet up the site location and finalize all required paperwork and site logistics, both prior to and following the dates of the student programSupervise office to insure effective communication and accurate record keepingEnsure the full implementation of all student IEPsOrient summer school staff, supervise instruction and ensure that summer school procedures are followed.Monitor student attendance and insure a learning atmosphere conducive to student successComplete observations and provide feedback for instructional and non-instructional staffKeep the Coordinator of Elementary Summer School and Director of Instructional Services informed of all behavior incidents.Performs other duties as assigned
