You'll work on everything from power electronics circuit design to embedded systems, blending creativity with precision engineering to keep our facilities running at their best.What You Will Do?You'll take on the challenge of designing and deploying next-generation control and drive electronics for our Oak Ridge, TN and Piketon, OH sites. From creating detailed design packages and testing electronics to troubleshooting complex systems, you'll be hands-on with projects that directly impact nuclear energy technology. You'll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, lead projects, mentor engineers, and interact with both Centrus leadership and the U.S. Department of Energy. Every day, you'll push boundaries by applying analytical methods, simulations, and industry standards to design safe, efficient, and cost-effective solutions that keep our operations moving forward.We'd Love To Hear From People With:A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering plus 6+ years of experience (or equivalent) in industrial electronics, preferably with a focus on power electronics and electric machinery (PEEM) design1+ years of hands-on experience in manufacturing, embedded systems design, and R&DStrong technical knowledge spanning low-voltage DC through three-phase systemsProficiency with engineering tools like PSPICE, MATLAB, Simulink, and OrCADExcellent communication, presentation, and computational skillsThe ability to obtain (or already hold) a "Q" security clearanceA Successful Candidate Brings:A Master's degree or 12+ years' experience in industrial electronics designExperience in the nuclear industry or other highly regulated environmentsKnowledge of electrical codes and standards (UL, IEEE, NEC, ANSI, OSHA, NUREGS)Background in electric motor design/manufacturing or embedded software developmentA passion for solving complex engineering challenges with innovative, real-world solutionsIn compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.This position will require a pre-employment background check and a pre-employment drug test.Centrus Energy and all subsidiaries shall abide by the applicable legal requirements. In addition, once employe, employees will become part of a random drug testing program and may also be tested in the event of any incident causing injury or causing damage to property, or if it is determined that there is a reasonable suspicion the employee is under the influence of drugs or alcohol. This position will require preemployment background check on the part of the Company and in order to receive a Q security clearance, a background investigation by the Federal government.
