Accounting Associate II
Job Description:
Responsibilities include, reconciling GL accounts such as Due from Banks, Cash accounts, ACH and In-Clearing, Deposits and Loan balances, as well as balancing the Federal Reserve account. This role will also prepare and process general ledger entries, daily and monthly accounting reports, as well as other routine accounting duties. Additional responsibilities include back-up to accounts payable function. Must be proficient in the use of computer-based spreadsheets and related software.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Complete daily/monthly general ledger reconciliations as assigned
Daily update and monitoring of Cash accounts and Fed Reserve account
Initiate/Verify bank to bank wire transfers for end of day cash settlements
Back-up role to the Accounts Payable function includes : Review approved invoices and document appropriate GL number for payment, enter invoices into GL Accounts Payable module, Print checks or process ACH file and email payment notifications.
Participate in Accounting projects as accounting liaison to ensure project plans are updated regularly, and all Accounting deliverables are completed timely
Assist in gathering information for outside public accountants, internal audit firm, regulatory examiners, and any other 3rd party requesting financial information as needed
Assist in the preparation of regulatory reporting as needed
Assist in the Bank’s budgeting process as needed
Perform additional duties as requested, needed or assigned

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business, a plusMinimum 1 – 3 years’ experience in banking or banking related field
Knowledge of basic accounting principles and techniques
Must have computer skills and working proficiency with Microsoft Office
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
