Title: ControllerLocation: Indio, CaliforniaFull-Time EmploymentOverviewWe are partnering with a growing, privately held organization to identify an experienced Controller to oversee the company’s financial operations. This individual will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strengthening internal controls, and partnering with leadership to support strategic decision-making.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee core accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger maintenance, and the monthly close process.Develop accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP.Monitor financial performance across multiple business lines and operational departments.Review and approve expenditures, contracts, and vendor payments to ensure alignment with budgets and financial objectives.Continuously evaluate and enhance financial processes, systems, and reporting tools to improve accuracy and efficiency.Provide financial insights and analysis to support operational improvements, capital investments, and long-term planning initiatives.Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process in collaboration with department leaders.Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for executive leadership and ownership.Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable regulatory requirements.Establish and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure reporting integrity.Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies.Partner closely with executive leadership and operational teams to support decision-making and organizational initiatives.Collaborate across departments to improve processes, enhance reporting visibility, and ensure alignment between finance and operations.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA preferred.8+ years of progressive accounting or financial management experience.Demonstrated expertise in preparing and analyzing financial statements and providing strategic financial insights.Experience with financial systems implementations, upgrades, or process improvements is highly desirable.Strong technical accounting foundation with proficiency in accounting and ERP systems.Advanced Excel and financial analysis skills.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational capabilities.Ability to translate complex financial information into clear insights for cross-functional stakeholders.Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
