RN - Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Per Diem Nights

Join a dedicated healthcare team providing compassionate nursing care in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) setting within a vibrant regional healthcare network in the Southeastern United States. This part-time, night-shift role involves planning and delivering professional nursing care aligned with established policies and standards. Key Responsibilities Assess patients and identify their care needs accurately. Organize and implement appropriate patient care plans. Maintain a safe and supportive environment for neonates and their families. Serve as charge nurse when assigned, overseeing unit operations. Document patient care thoroughly and accurately. Administer medications as prescribed by physicians. Recognize and respond promptly to life-threatening situations. Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams. Monitor care quality using outcome-based indicators. Participate actively in cost containment and accurate patient service charging. Adapt care to meet age-specific physiological and psychosocial needs. Support patients' cultural and spiritual practices within medical guidelines. Education Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred. Experience No prior experience required; new graduates encouraged to apply. Requirements Current Registered Nurse licensure in a Compact state or the relevant regional licensure. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association. Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Effective organizational and leadership abilities. Knowledge of age-specific physiological, psychosocial, developmental, and spiritual needs of neonatal patients. Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift frequently; sensory acuity for patient communication and observation. Willingness to work in an environment with potential exposure to blood and other infectious materials.
