Event ManagerThe Event Manager is primarily responsible for overseeing all aspects of post-booking requirements for all events from the advance planning stages through the end of the event; hire, train, schedule and supervise all guest services staff; oversee building security and interact with local public safety officials to ensure events run smoothly; coordinate communication between event staff/security and delegate assignments; be responsible for and ensure overall customer and lessee satisfaction and experience.This role pays an annual salary of $80,169-$85,000Benefits for Full-Time roles: Health, Dental and Vision Insurance, 401(k) Savings Plan, 401(k) matching, and Paid Time Off (vacation days, sick days, and 11 holidays)This position will remain open until July 10th, 2026.ResponsibilitiesOversee Event Management activities for all facility eventsAdvance, plan, service, and supervise all eventsCreate and distribute detailed data sheets prior to every eventPrepare and approve bi-weekly payroll for all event staff and security staffCoordinate service needs with Food and Beverage provider & make hospitality arrangements as neededFunction as a liaison between users of the facility and the facility staffRecommend and evaluate required event staffing levelsCoordinate communication between building staff and show staff during load in and load outReview emergency planning procedures with all event staff for each eventPlan, direct and evaluate the work of subordinatesProvide leadership and guidance for event personnelMaintain equipment (radios, metal detection wands, etc.) for all event/security staffMake hospitality arrangements as neededAssist in the preparation of building to meet the requirements of upcoming events/showsAssist with the completion of pre-show event financial estimatesAssist with the completion of post-show event settlements and invoicesAdvise lessees on services available from independent contractors for eventsRecruit, train, and supervise event & security staffCreate work schedules for event & security staff, delegate assignments, and review performance/resultsCommunicate with municipal officials, including police, fire and medical services, event staff and public to ensure security of patrons and events run smoothlyCommunicate clearly and concisely in the English language, both orally and in writingEstablish and maintain effective working relationships with lessees/clients, co-workers, part-time staff, contractors, patrons/public and municipal officialsWork a flexible schedule, including long nights, early mornings, weekends & holidays as neededComplete all duties with a customer service focus through teamwork & dedication to the OVG Fundamental ValuesServe as Manager on Duty as scheduledOther duties and responsibilities as assignedQualificationsThree to Five (3-5) years of increasingly responsible experience in event management in a stadium, arena, convention center or public assembly facility settingBachelor's degree from an accredited college/university with major coursework in facility management, hospitality management, business, or related fieldStrong oral and written communication skillsStrong computer skills in Microsoft Office applications, word processing, and InternetPossession of, or ability to obtain, a valid drivers' licenseKnowledge of operational characteristics of eventsAbility to identify the needs of users of the facilityKnowledge of crowd management and control techniquesKnowledge of customer service practicesKnowledge of principles of supervision, scheduling, and training employeesDemonstrated familiarity with facility use contractsKnowledge of fire and public safety regulationsKnowledge of A/V equipment and electronic systems in public assembly facilitiesExperience with budget preparation and controlFamiliarity with terminology used in entertainment/convention/public assembly settingsExperience with various diagramming programs is preferred but not required
