No Work ScheduleRegular Hours: Monday - Friday 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.This is a face-to-face position, and flexibility is required to meet business needs.Sensitive Position No Job DescriptionDanville Community College developed from two institutions, Danville Technical Institute and the Danville Division of Virginia Polytechnic Institute opened in 1936 as Danville Textile School, becoming Danville Technical Institute just after World War II. The Danville Division of Virginia Polytechnic Institute first began as an engineering division in 1946 and was later expanded to include the first two years of course work for all engineering, business administration, liberal arts, and science majors. Beginning in the summer of 1966, all programs taught by Danville Technical Institute were brought under the Virginia Department of Community Colleges. Effective July 1, 1968, the Danville Division of Virginia Polytechnic Institute merged with the existing community college providing the comprehensive programs now offered.The Coordinator of Grant Development will work collaboratively with faculty, staff, administrators, and external partners to pursue funding opportunities from federal, state, corporate, and foundation sources. The position will coordinate the full lifecycle of grant development, including opportunity identification, proposal development, submission, compliance monitoring, and post-award reporting.Grant Development and Proposal CoordinationRecruit for grant proposals for potential funding sources.Identify and monitor potential grant opportunities aligned with institutional priorities.Collaborate with faculty, staff, and administrators to develop competitive grant proposals.Establish proposal timelines and coordinate the development of required application components.Prepare and edit grant narratives, budgets, and supporting documentation.Manage the final preparation and submission of grant applications.Grant Administration and ComplianceMaintain systems to track grant opportunities, submissions, awards, and reporting deadlines.Prepare pre-award and post-award documentation.Monitor grant activities to ensure compliance with grant contracts, budgets, and reporting requirements.Review grant agreements to ensure programs are administered in accordance with contract requirements.Collaboration and Financial OversightWork closely with the Business Office, specifically the grant accountant, regarding grant budgets, financial reporting, and audit requirements.Support principal investigators and program leaders in grant administration and reporting.Provide updates and reports on grant activities to the Vice President of Workforce Services and college leadership.Strategic SupportMaintain databases and reporting tools related to grant development activities.Analyze funding trends and identify opportunities to expand grant support for college initiatives.Apply analytical and problem-solving skills to evaluate funding strategies and support institutional decision-making.Special AssignmentsMay be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.KSA's/Required QualificationsKnowledge, training, and experience in English, Communications, Business, Nonprofit Management, Public Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Strong working knowledge of computer-based technologies for research, word processing, and spreadsheet development.Excellent technical writing, organizational, and communication skills.Ability to clearly articulate program goals, objectives, budgets, evaluation methods, and measurable outcomes.Knowledge of strategic planning, resource allocation, and coordination of people and resources.Knowledge of media production, communication, and dissemination techniques.Ability to read, analyze, and interpret grant contracts and compliance requirements.Knowledge of grant accounting principles and audit requirements.Ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, administrators, and external partners.
