Executive Underwriter Management Liability (San Francisco, CA)Job ID: 129734.Zurich is currently looking for an Underwriting Specialist or Executive Underwriter Management Liability. As we expand, we are hiring candidates to work out of our San Francisco location. In this role you will utilize sales, marketing, relationship building, and analytical skills to analyze and underwrite new and renewal Business for Financial Lines Products (Directors and Officers, Employment Practices Liability, Fiduciary Liability and Crime Insurance) for private and nonprofit companies.Key Accountabilities of This RoleAdminister and monitor underwriting rules and guidelines, rating manual rules, and insurance laws and regulations.Develop, maintain & collaborate with Line of Business representatives and other business-related needs, as appropriate.Develop and maintain relationships with distributors (agents & brokers) in support of business retention and acquisition and work with customers and distributors to determine their insurance related needs and provide solutions.Support the organization's sales culture by being a help point for agents, brokers and customers.Proactively seek renewal and new account opportunities.Complete detailed opportunity assessment with key distributors to identify growth opportunities.Qualify accounts to meet the organization's appetite, balanced with sound business opportunity.Make broker/customer and on-sight calls with a planned and well-prepared purpose.Mentor team members.Basic QualificationsUnderwriting SpecialistHigh School Diploma or Equivalent and 3 or more years of experience in Underwriting or Market Facing area; ORHigh School Diploma or Equivalent and 6 or more years of experience in Claims or Underwriting Support area; ORZurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 1 or more years of experience in Underwriting or Market Facing area; ORZurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 4 or more years of experience in Claims or Underwriting Support area ANDKnowledge of line(s) of business and the legal and regulatory guidelines.Knowledge of time restraints for quotes on new and renewal business.Experience with Microsoft Office.Executive UnderwriterHigh School Diploma or Equivalent and 5 or more years of experience in Underwriting or Market Facing area; ORHigh School Diploma or Equivalent and 10 or more years of experience in Claims or Underwriting Support area; ORZurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 3 or more years of experience in Underwriting or Market Facing area; ORZurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 8 or more years of experience in Claims or Underwriting Support area ANDKnowledge of Microsoft Office.Experience working on time restraints for quotes on new and renewal business.Experience working in a team environment.Preferred QualificationsBachelor's Degree.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Strong relationship building skills.Compensation & BenefitsYour pay at Zurich is based on role, location, skills, and experience. The combined salary range for this position is $96,600–$209,300. The Underwriting Specialist range is $96,600–$158,300 with 10% short-term incentive bonus; the Executive Underwriter range is $127,800–$209,300 with 15% short-term incentive bonus. You may also be eligible for bonuses and merit increases.
