We strongly believe our people are our most important asset, and we strive every day to make Murphy a great place to work as we build our clients’ visions.Position SummaryThe VC Integration Lead (VCIL) serves as the authoritative coordination lead between field project managers, superintendents, and the virtual construction team. This role is responsible for defining, communicating, tracking, and enforcing the requirements necessary for successful virtual construction execution and scheduling.The VCIL has the authority to establish deadlines, required information, and escalate issues to ensure schedules, material and equipment submittals, and required inputs from owners, engineers, and general contractors are received in time to support modeling, fabrication, and field installation.Key ResponsibilitiesField & Virtual Construction CoordinationAct as the primary, empowered point of contact between field Project Managers, Operations Managers, Engineering and the VC teamDefine virtual construction requirements based on project schedules, fabrication needs, and field prioritiesEnforce alignment between field expectations and virtual construction capabilitiesRequire timely responses, decisions, and inputs necessary to maintain virtual construction progressHas the authority to set up all VC cost codes requiredMonitor daily VC logs to ensure obstacles are resolved in a timely mannerSchedule & Deliverables AuthorityWorks directly with VC Manager to establish virtual construction milestones aligned with the project scheduleEnforce deadlines for model deliverables required for fabrication, layout, and installationMonitor schedule changes and direct required adjustments to virtual construction prioritiesEscalate schedule conflicts or missed deadlines to project and operations leadership as neededSubmittals, Materials & Equipment ControlDefine required submittal timelines that directly impact virtual construction workflowsRequire approved material and equipment information before modeling and fabrication release, including but not limited to Spec Matrix, submittals on equipment and PVFsEnforce model updates based on approved submittals and vendor informationIdentify and escalate risks caused by late or incomplete submittalsEscalate changes from original ACP plans to field operational changesInformation Management & External CoordinationDefine and communicate required information from owners, engineers, and general contractorsEnforce receipt of background drawings, specifications, and design clarificationsCoordinate and track RFIs and design decisions critical to virtual construction progressDocument assumptions and, when required information is not provided, formally communicate impacts and constraintsIssue Resolution & EscalationIdentify gaps, delays, and breakdowns in information flowProactively escalate unresolved issues that jeopardize schedules, fabrication, or field workServe as a neutral authority to resolve conflicts between field priorities and virtual construction constraintsSupport leadership with clear documentation of risks, impacts, and recommended actionsProcess Governance & Continuous ImprovementEnforce standard workflows and communication protocols between field and virtual construction teamsSupport development and refinement of requirement tracking tools and dashboardsDrive accountability by clearly defining responsibilities, deadlines, and expectationsSupport Field Operations in the understanding of VC productionRequired Qualifications3+ years of experience in mechanical, piping, plumbing, or construction projectsStrong understanding of construction schedules, submittals, and project execution workflowsProven ability to manage deadlines, priorities, and competing demandsExperience working directly with field project managers and construction leadershipStrong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to assert requirements professionallyField experience as a Project Manager or Project EngineerPreferred QualificationsExperience coordinating with owners, engineers, and general contractorsFamiliarity with virtual construction and engineering processesExperience supporting fabrication or prefabrication workflowsWhat Success Looks Like in This RoleVirtual construction requirements clearly defined, communicated, and metDeadlines enforced with minimal last-minute disruptionsTimely receipt of required information from internal and external stakeholdersReduced schedule impacts caused by late decisions or incomplete inputsStrong accountability and trust across the field, project management, and virtual construction teamsReporting StructureVC Integration LeadHandles small in-house projects+ Field VCIL’s as required by project workloadWhat We Will Bring to the Table A collaborative, family-friendly work environmentKnowledge and expertise that have helped us grow and thrive for nearly 120 yearsCompetitive pay, a bonus, and an excellent benefits package, including health and life insurance, a health-forward wellness program, 401(k), and profit sharingA robust PTO program designed to support real work–life balance
