Mechanical Systems Integration Engineer
We are looking for a System Integration Engineer to support semiconductor automation and robotic material handling equipment in Santa Clara, CA.This is a highly hands-on hardware engineering role focused on machinery testing, electromechanical troubleshooting, robotics integration, motion systems, and system-level validation of complex automation equipment.Ideal candidates come from semiconductor equipment, robotics, industrial automation, material handling, or precision machinery environments.Typical work split is ~2/3 hands-on machinery testing, characterizing, troubleshooting, and ~1/3 documentation of procedures, tests, and best practices.Qualifications:BSME - 10+ years in Semiconductor equipment, material handling, automation and robotics (solar and disk drives)SolidWorks, EPDM, Documentation, GD&T, Tolerance Stack-UpStrong hands-on experience testing, characterization, troubleshooting of complex automation equipmentExperience in developing and documenting test procedures, test data, SOP’s, best practicesStrong familiarity in mechatronics/automation design (motor sizing, actuator design, sensor selection, etc.)Industrial automation and control systems (VFD and servo drives, multi-axis robots, PLCs) a plusExperience with optics, lasers, x-rays, lenses a plusResponsibilities:Perform hands-on testing, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis across predominantly Mechanical, but also Electrical and Controls domains.Define critical aspects of machine performance and develop corresponding tests and tuning methods.Collaborate with cross functional teams – including mechanical, electrical, optical, and software engineers to resolve integration and performance issues.Develop and execute detailed hardware test procedures – from subsystem acceptance tests to system-level validation – ensuring performance meets design and reliability requirements.Collect, analyze, and interpret test data, identifying trends, deviations, and opportunities for design or process improvements.
