Job Description BuyerLocation: Corpus Christi, TxDescription:Provides procurement support for Corpus Christi Turnaround Group in accordance with the organization's procedures and strategic goals. The focus of this role will be on ordering materials and expediting. Performs the following duties:Obtain vendor quotes for each BOM or other material requestSet up vendors for use through vendor prequalification system and maintain vendor relationsSelect and negotiate with approved vendors and evaluates vendor reliabilityObtain materials from suppliers at the lowest cost, with consideration to quality, reliability and urgency of needIssue purchase orders upon receipt of requisitions on an expeditious mannerSchedule deliveries and follow up on orders to expedite delivery and shipment as neededMaintain records and files to ensure accurate and complete documentationCoordinate with responsible Commodity Purchasing Agents for terms and condition issues, vendor performance issues, contract compliance issuesAssist with invoice blocking issuesReturn unused material to vendors upon requestAttend TA planning meetings and act as liaison between Procurement and the Turnaround GroupRequired:TWIC CardOvertime is required.During the Turnaround, the work schedule is 12 hours per day, 7 days a week, with every 14th day off.Microsoft Office skills required.Preferred:SAP experience
