Supervisor Non Income Tax
Job Description: Supervisor – Non-Income Tax - professional successfully filling this position willprovide Management of certain Non-Income tax processes and related system configuration,compliance and audit; guidance and supervision to one or more Non-Income Tax Analyst(s); andsupport to business as required.Job Responsibilities:• Coordinates and maintains good working relationship with tax advisors,• Provide tax support to other members of control and finance functions, corporate supportstaff, and various business staff• Review / Monitor System configuration for tax to ensure monthly tax accruals are correct.• Continually seek process improvements and be the champion of positive change.• Manage NY, NC & KY (and others, as added) Tax Rate Compliance annual processes,including insourcing taxability analysis as feasible.• Supervise Non-Income Tax Analyst staff.• Oversee annual Legal Entity Health Check review of all US legal entities, ensuringcompliance with all US Non-Income tax laws• Engage as major contributor in various Tax or Business Projects, DMAICs, etc.• Manage Periodic Sales/Use tax compliance process for all Corning legal entities, ensuringall returns are filed accurately and timely with appropriate payments.• Support the optimization of tax liabilities/attributes within regulations and educate internalstakeholders on potential implications• Manage Non-Income tax audits and manage Non-Income tax staff, setting goals andobjectives, coaching etc.• Manage and ensure all appropriate training for self and direct reports are completed tomaintain knowledge base of tax laws and changes that impact Corning• Engage with all business units as necessary to manage any system and/or process changesthat may have a direct impact on Non-Income Tax.• Partner with the Customer Care team to ensure the proper taxation of customers, includingdetermining taxability, resolving billing questions, and addressing tax disputes.• Work directly with customers to collect valid sales tax exemption documentation• Engage with business as necessary to ensure proper sales, use and property tax incentivesare received and tracked timely.• Collaboration with all organizational levels and external tax jurisdictions to maintainaccurate tax compliance.• Collaborate with team members to resolve tax disputes, assist with customer setup inVertex, and oversee the refund process.Reporting Structure:• Report to: Finance Manager, Tax Operations located in Charlotte, NC• Direct Reports: TBDTravel: On an as needed basisExperiences/Education Required (Must have):Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business Finance with 5-7 years’ experience in Financerelated areaORBachelor’s Degree in Non- Finance with 8-10 years’ experience in Finance related areaWorking knowledge of various tax software packages (Vertex, TaxWare, OneSource,S4HANA)Experience participating on projects, in team environmentExperience as a Sr. Analyst with a focus on Indirect Tax & TechnologyPrior experience implementing tax softwareComprehensive skill set in areas like Alteryx workflows, financial statement analysis, projectmanagement, KPI management, and process automation.Technical acumen includes proficiency in Microsoft Suite, Alteryx Designer, VBA, PowerBI, etc.In previous roles, they have managed sales, use and property tax compliance, conducted in-depthtax exposure assessments, and implemented tax engine systems, showcasing a deep understandingof indirect tax across multiple jurisdictions.Experiences/Education Desired:CPAAudit or public accounting experienceExperience in Peoplesoft and/or SAPPrior Corning experience a plusSoft Skills:Team player with strong interpersonal skills, positive, flexible, creative, self-motivated withdesire for self-improvement and diligence with ability to work well on a team as well asoperate effectively in a corporate culture that manages by consensusStrong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects in time-constrainedenvironmentsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsDemonstrated ability to research and learn new technical areasConfident in decision making ability and leads change
