Applied Physical Sciences is seeking a highly motivated and curious Summer Intern to join our Enterprise Data Systems Implementation Team. This opportunity is ideal for a rising senior undergraduate or graduate student interested in data analytics, reporting, and enterprise systems who enjoys turning data into actionable insights.In this role, you will work with real business data, contribute to reporting and analytics initiatives, and gain hands-on exposure to enterprise data systems. You’ll be trusted to take ownership of tasks, think critically about data needs, and support ongoing improvements in reporting, visualization, and documentation.APS works on exciting, technically challenging, research & development programs where multidisciplinary teams work closely to address difficult national security needs. This position will allow applicants to make meaningful contributions to the APS mission.Job Functions And ResponsibilitiesAssist in gathering, cleaning, and transforming data from multiple sourcesBuild and enhance Power BI reports and dashboardsAnalyze data to support reporting and operational insightsHelp document data processes, report logic, and visualization standardsCollaborate with team members to identify opportunities for reporting improvementsParticipate in team meetings and contribute to data-driven problem solvingRequired Skills And AttributesEnrolled in a relevant undergraduate or graduate degree program (e.g., Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, MBA, or related field)Power BI experience with demonstrated ability to build reports and dashboards through coursework, academic projects, or professional experienceStrong data visualization skills, with the ability to clearly communicate insights using charts, graphs, and interactive visualsStrong attention to detail and ability to interpret data and draw meaningful conclusionsAbility to work proactively and adapt in a cross functional, fast paced environmentDemonstrates initiative, curiosity, and resourcefulness, with the ability to identify what needs to be done and take actionsPreferred Skills And AttributesExperience using additional data visualization or analytics tools in a professional or workplace setting (beyond academic coursework)Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 PSA or POComfortable working in environments with open-ended or evolving requirementsStrong independent problem-solving skills, balanced with the ability to collaborate and ask thoughtful questions when neededAbility to manage multiple tasks and balance shifting prioritiesDetail oriented with the ability to prioritize and organize daily schedulesLocation: Groton, CTAPS, a wholly owned subsidiary of the General Dynamics Corporation, offers competitive salaries, excellent benefits, and comfortable working conditions.
