Instructional Design Consultant

A leading medical device company in Irvine, CA is looking for an Instructional Design Consultant to support an ongoing initiative focused on standardizing training modules across the organization. This role will partner with a cross-functional team to develop interactive learning content using Articulate 360 Storyline. This project will start in April 2026 and is currently scheduled to go at least until the end of the year. This consultant will need to be onsite at least 3 days/week.A key component of this role involves leveraging Java within Storyline to create custom variables, triggers, and functionality. The client utilizes a workflow that integrates Storyline scripting concepts alongside PowerPoint-based content, so experience bridging these tools is important.Key Responsibilities:Design and develop eLearning modules using Articulate 360 StorylineWrite and implement Java to create custom variables, triggers, and interactions within StorylineWork with PowerPoint-based source content and translate it into interactive Storyline modulesTroubleshoot and enhance existing modules for improved functionality and learner experienceContribute to the standardization of training materials across departmentsRequired Qualifications:5–10 years of experience in instructional design, eLearning development, or a related fieldBS degree minimumStrong hands-on experience with Articulate 360 StorylineProficiency in Java coding, specifically for use within Storyline (variables, triggers, custom scripting)Ability to work in a hybrid environment with onsite presence a few days per week
