Data Architect – Snowflake / Cortex Location: Remote — Anywhere in the United States Employment Type: Full-time or Contract Experience Required: 10+ years Work Authorization: US Citizen/ Green Card holder Domain Preference: U.S. Corporate Tax Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Data Architect with strong expertise in Snowflake and Snowflake Cortex to design and deliver scalable, secure, and high-performance enterprise data solutions. This is a hands-on, client-facing role for an architect who can lead data-platform strategy across cloud data warehousing, data integration, governance, security, analytics, and AI-enabled capabilities. Experience supporting U.S. Corporate Tax data, processes, reporting, or technology platforms is highly preferred. Key Responsibilities Design and implement enterprise data architecture using Snowflake. Configure, assess, and optimize Snowflake Cortex capabilities for AI-enabled data and analytics use cases. Define conceptual, logical, and physical data models; data flows; integration patterns; and data lifecycle standards. Architect scalable batch and real-time data ingestion, transformation, and orchestration frameworks. Establish data governance, data quality, metadata, lineage, privacy, security, and role-based access-control standards. Develop architecture patterns that support tax data, financial data, reporting, compliance, and auditability requirements. Partner with AI, software engineering, MuleSoft/integration, analytics, and data engineering teams to deliver end-to-end solutions. Define and enforce architecture standards for performance, reliability, scalability, and cost optimization. Review solution designs and guide teams on adherence to enterprise data architecture standards. Lead technical discussions with customer stakeholders and translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions. Required Qualifications 10+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, data warehousing, or related technical roles. Strong hands-on experience designing and implementing enterprise solutions on Snowflake. Hands-on knowledge of Snowflake Cortex and its applicable AI/ML-enabled capabilities. Advanced SQL skills and strong expertise in data modeling. Experience with enterprise data warehouses, data lakes, and modern cloud data platforms. Strong understanding of ETL/ELT frameworks, data pipelines, orchestration, and data-integration patterns. Experience with AWS, Azure, GCP, or a combination of cloud platforms. Knowledge of data governance, data quality, master/reference data, security, privacy, and performance optimization. Demonstrated ability to lead architecture reviews and communicate effectively with technical and business stakeholders. Ability to work independently in a fully remote, customer-facing environment. Good-to-Have Qualifications Domain expertise in U.S. Corporate Tax, including tax data, tax reporting, compliance, provision, audit, or related business processes. Experience working with corporate tax technology platforms, tax-data integrations, or finance/tax transformation initiatives. Familiarity with tax-sensitive data requirements, audit trails, data controls, and regulatory reporting needs. Experience integrating Snowflake with MuleSoft or other enterprise integration platforms. Knowledge of Python, dbt, Airflow, Kafka, Informatica, Fivetran, Matillion, or similar tools. Experience supporting AI, machine learning, generative AI, or advanced analytics initiatives. Snowflake certifications, such as SnowPro Core or SnowPro Advanced. Experience working in consulting, large enterprise, finance, accounting, or tax-technology environments.
