Structural Engineering Manager
Remora is seeking a Structural Engineering Manager to lead the design, analysis, and development of structural systems. This role will drive structural engineering efforts end‑to‑end, oversee the analysis and validation of components and assemblies, and provide technical leadership in design decisions. The manager will collaborate cross‑functionally with various teams to ensure solutions meet performance, safety, and cost requirements.
We’re building modular carbon capture systems for vehicles — turning exhaust into beverage‑grade CO₂ sold to breweries and greenhouses. We deploy in regions facing severe CO₂ shortages, where prices are highest, allowing us to generate high margins without tax credits or carbon credits.
Responsibilities
Design and develop scalable software solutions, writing clean, efficient code using Object Oriented Programming Languages (OOP) including Java, TypeScript, SQL, or similar.
Analyze and resolve complex software issues, optimizing applications for performance, scalability, and reliability.
Collaborate closely with product, design, and operations teams to align technical solutions with business objectives and effectively communicate technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
Lead and mentor junior engineers by providing technical guidance, code reviews, and support for best practices in software development and system design.
Contribute to system architecture design and reviews, making decisions that improve scalability, maintainability, and performance.
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support automated testing, integration, and deployment processes.
Stay current with emerging technologies, evaluating and adopting new tools to solve business challenges and improve engineering efficiency.
Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system designs, APIs, and user guides to support long‑term system maintenance and knowledge sharing.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Systems Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
4+ years of experience developing scalable web applications and APIs, leading software projects, contributing to technical architecture, and implementing new technologies and engineering best practices.
2+ years of experience in any of the following: Version control, managing branches, resolving merge conflicts, and conducting code reviews on GitHub or GitLab.
Experience using containerization and orchestration tools, including Docker and Kubernetes, to build, deploy,
