MEDICAL RECEPTIONIST
Easter Seals Serving DC|MD|VA offers a unique opportunity for a highly motivated and skilled leader professional to join a multi-disciplinary team of highly skilled professionals at The Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic at Easterseals. The successful candidate will be motivated to deliver services to the highest standards of efficacy and quality, have excellent communication and customer service skills and be results-oriented.
Position Summary
The Receptionist will be a key member of The Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic. He/she will report to the Office Manager and will provide exceptional customer service to external and internal customers. As such, we seek a professional, customer-oriented individual who will excel at roles and responsibilities including but not limited to:
Ensuring that multi-line telephone system is monitored and answered in a prompt and professional manner. This includes the following:
Routing incoming calls to the appropriate party
Ensuring messages are complete, accurate and transmitted to the appropriate person
Screening calls as needed
Completing initial collection of contact and demographic information for prospective clients
Welcoming and greeting visitors in a friendly and professional manner. Determining the nature of the visit, who they need to speak with and promptly notifying the appropriate staff of the visitor’s arrival
Knowledge of the clinic’s staff and what calls are referred to which staff member for efficient handling
Knowledge of the purpose and general operation of programs offered by the clinic and the ability to intelligently communicate this information to customers and visitors
Responsible for scheduling client appointments
Maintain a neat and professional appearance in wait area, children’s play room and front desk. (No meals should be eaten at the Reception Desk)
Receive and sign for deliveries and notify recipient
Perform administrative duties and/or other duties assigned in an accurate and timely manner
Maintain clinic security by locking and unlocking doors and monitoring security cameras

Decision Making: Ability to set work priorities and to evaluate and create solutions to work related problems. Ability to think analytically and evaluate the impact of decisions
Multitasker: Ability to juggle multiple tasks to meet the needs of our customers and the clinic team simultaneously
Technical: Knowledge of administrative functions and support. Proficient knowledge of Word, Excel, Publisher, Access, and PowerPoint. Proof-reading skills and 60 WPM typing with 98% accuracy
Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent and 1-3 years related experience in a medical office environment.
Knowledge about the appropriate and effective use of protected health information, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 and the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act.
Excellent customer service
Must be able to work independently or as part of a team, anticipate problems and generate solutions and demonstrate flexibility and sensitivity when engaging with staff and clients
Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to digest and distill complex subjects into clear messages
Highly organized and able to multi-task in a busy office environment
