This is a construction-only project located in Eagle Mountain, Utah, and the selected candidate will be required to be onsite approximately 75% of the time.The project is a 286MW simple-cycle power generation facility with an approximate duration of 22 months and ~$250M in revenue. While prior simple-cycle power generation experience is highly preferred, it is not required. Strong utility, EPC, or heavy industrial construction cost control experience is required.Start Date: ASAPThis is not a contract position — it is a full-time, permanent role with QISG. Upon completion of this project, the individual will transition directly onto another active project within the organization.About The RoleAt QISG , we design and build complex renewable infrastructure, with a strong focus on projects that power communities and strengthen the modern grid.As a Cost Specialist, you will drive cost control and financial performance across large, multi-year utility capital projects, supporting T&D, substation, and power generation work from early execution through closeout.This role is ideal for a project-based cost professional with deep experience in job costing, forecasting, and change management within utilities, EPC, power generation, or heavy commercial construction environments.You will partner closely with Project Managers, Project Controls, Engineering, and Construction teams to ensure accurate cost visibility, manage financial risk, and support data-driven decision-making across complex grid infrastructure programs.What You'll DoTrack and control costs across EPC utility projects, including transmission, substations, renewables, and utility constructionManage budget vs. actuals, forecasts, and cost trends on multi-year capital programsDevelop and maintain EACs and ETCs to ensure accurate financial projectionsIdentify cost variances and risks early, escalating issues to project leadershipSupport change management, including change orders, budget adjustments, and cost impactsPartner with Project Managers, Operations, and technical teams to align financials with execution plansDeliver clear cost reports, dashboards, and forecasts for leadership and stakeholdersEnsure compliance with Project Controls Execution Plans and company standardsLeverage JDE, EcoSys, Procore, Excel, and Power BI for job cost tracking and reportingAct as a trusted cost advisor, driving continuous improvement in cost control practicesWhat You'll Bring5-8 years of project cost control or project controls experience within EPC and renewables environmentsStrong hands-on expertise in cost forecasting, budget management, change management, and cost/risk trend analysisExperience in project-based capital environments (not manufacturing or corporate accounting)Advanced Excel skills; experience with JDE and/or EcoSys required, Procore preferredAbility to translate complex cost data into clear, actionable insights for project leadershipBachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)Willingness to be on project site 75% of time for a 22 month long project This is a full time hire, not contract, elgible for full benefits.
