Job Description:Location: MCAS Miramar – San Diego, CAPlatform: CH-53EClearance: DoD Active Secret RequiredPosition Overview:We are seeking an experienced Aircraft Mechanic II to support CH-53E maintenance operations at MCAS Miramar. This role performs aircraft maintenance of moderate difficulty across structural, mechanical, hydraulic, and powerplant systems, while occasionally leading small teams through more complex tasks.This position is ideal for a mechanic who is technically strong, capable of troubleshooting independently, and ready to take on increasing responsibility in a dynamic operational environment.Work Environment:Flight line and hangar environment supporting operational USMC aircraft. Must be able to meet physical requirements associated with aircraft maintenance.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Perform maintenance, repair, and modification of aircraft structures and structural componentsMaintain and repair flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical componentsTroubleshoot airframe and powerplant systems and restore equipment to operational conditionInterpret blueprints, technical manuals, and manufacturer publicationsSupport Maintenance Engineering Changes (MEC), Estimated Cost of Damage (ECOD) preparation, and recommend MWO changesUtilize aircraft-specific tools and precision test equipmentLead teams through more complex maintenance tasks as assignedInspect work performed by Mechanic I and II personnelMake required aircraft logbook and maintenance record entriesPrioritize workload to maintain aircraft schedulesRequired Knowledge & ExperienceStrong troubleshooting background in aircraft mechanical systemsBroad knowledge of sheet metal and structural modification/repairBasic understanding of electrical theoryExperience With Aircraft-specific Tools Including:Torque wrenchesDial indicatorsMicrometersSheet metal brakes and shearsAircraft test equipmentWorking knowledge of aircraft technical publicationsAbility to work independently with limited supervisionSpecializations in sheet metal, avionics, electrical systems, or other aircraft disciplines are a plus.Job Ident #: Apply NowCompany DetailsStrategic Technology Institute, Inc6000 Executive BlvdSuite 205Rockville , Maryland 20852 USAwww.sti-inc.com169 Open Jobs AvailableFollow Strategic Technology Institute, IncStrategic Technology Institute, Inc. was founded in 1985, and is headquartered in Rockville, MD.
