Job Title: Project Engineer - Commercial Construction Job Type: Full-time direct hire Job Location: Des Moines, IA (Onsite) Salary: The salary range for a PE is $60,000 - $80,000 per year. However, we would have some flexibility with the right candidate. Our start date is also very flexible but we prefer sooner over later. We have multiple PE positions open if the right candidate comes along. Work Authorisation: US Citizen/GC Prefer try local Job Description Our client is seeking a Project Engineer looking to join a general contractor with a great team atmosphere and the opportunity to grow in their position. 2+ years of commercial construction project coordination experience is required, and 3-5 years is preferred. If you have a track record of effectively communicating, coordinating, and helping your team complete quality work on time and within budget, we invite you to apply. * 2-5 years of commercial construction experience * Excellent organization and communication skills * Positive attitude, team player, and fun to be around * Sets high goals and works hard to achieve them * Enjoys providing organization to the bidding, estimating, development, and construction management process * Ability to anticipate and resolve issues in a way that helps the entire team succeed * Communicates effectively with the entire project team, including architects, engineers, owners, inspectors, and subcontractors * Skilled in listening, assessing issues, and has the ability to solve problems independently * Ability to participate in multiple projects while staying organized and complying with deadlines * Understands project budgets and manages job costs effectively * Knowledge of construction means, methods, and techniques Job Responsibilities * Bid solicitation, follow up, and management * Takeoff and estimating * Subcontract and purchase order writing * Submittal solicitation and approval * Prepare and process change orders * Process and manage billings, lien waivers, and job reports * Lead meetings, create agendas and take minutes * Prepare and distribute close-out documents Job Type: Full-time Pay: $58,883.33 - $80,000.00 per year Benefits: 401(k) Dental insurance Health insurance Vision insurance Schedule: 8 hour shift Ability to commute/relocate: Des Moines, IA: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required) Experience: Project engineering: 3 years (Required) Commercial construction: 3 years (Required) construction project coordination: 3 years (Required) Work Location: In person
