*Contract:* 13 weeks
*Shift:* 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM | Day Shift
*Unit:* Clinical Laboratory 1
*Payrate: $1800- $2000 weekly gross (negotiable)*
*Job Summary*
We are seeking an experienced *Lead Laboratory Assistant* to oversee and coordinate the day-to-day operations of the clinical laboratory phlebotomy and specimen-processing area.
*Key Responsibilities*
* Organize and coordinate daily operations of the clinical laboratory phlebotomy and specimen-processing area.
* Coordinate staffing and work assignments for phlebotomists, laboratory assistants, and interns.
* Perform blood collection through *venipuncture and skin puncture* according to established policies and procedures.
* Receive, prepare, sort, label, accession, and process various types of laboratory specimens.
* Enter patient and specimen information accurately into the *Laboratory Information System (LIS)*.
*Requirements*
* *Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) License – Required in California*
* CPT certification – Preferred in Oregon and Hawaii.
* Knowledge of venipuncture and skin-puncture techniques.
* 3 years of phlebotomy experience in an acute-care environment – Preferred
