Human Resources Business Partner

Jackson, MS based company is seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to support our growing Retail Division. This role is an opportunity to serve as a trusted advisor to Retail Leadership, shaping people-strategies that support business growth across a fast-paced, multi-location retail environment. In this role, you will influence leadership decisions, strengthen employee relations, lead recruiting and onboarding across all levels, support talent planning, and help create a consistent, high-performing culture.This is a high-impact role for an HR professional who enjoys partnering closely with leaders, solving complex people challenges, and driving meaningful organizational improvements. The ideal candidate brings strong employee relations experience, sound business judgment, and the confidence to build credibility quickly, influence effectively, and turn workforce insights into action.What You'll DoPartner with leaders on employee and labor relations, performance management, and engagement to support team effectiveness and business objectivesInvestigate employee issues, document findings, and recommend compliant solutions and appropriate follow-up actionsAdvise managers on disciplinary actions, performance improvement plans, and terminations while helping mitigate riskLead full-cycle recruiting and onboarding for all levels, from frontline and professional roles to leadership positionsAdminister HR policies and programs, ensure compliance with employment and labor laws, and promote consistent HR practicesLead onboarding, training, and development initiatives, and coach managers on people leadership and employee experienceMaintain accurate employee records and support internal HR audits, reporting, and documentation requirementsPartner with payroll and benefits teams to resolve employee questions and ensure data accuracyBuild strong partnerships with retail leadership to support business needs and operational consistencyAnalyze trends in turnover, hiring, engagement, and employee relations to identify risks, recommend actions, and inform business decisionsLead or support HR initiatives, change efforts, and process improvements that enhance the employee experience and organizational effectivenessQualificationsBachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field preferred5+ years of progressive HR experience, including strong expertise in employee relations, workplace investigations, performance management, and full-cycle recruitingExperience supporting multi-location retail or other fast-paced operating environments preferredProven ability to lead recruiting and onboarding across all levels, with success building talent pipelines and delivering a strong candidate and new-hire experienceExperience with HRIS and payroll systems, including UKG/UltiPro, and strong Microsoft Office skillsSolid knowledge of employment and labor laws, HR best practices, and compliant hiring processesStrong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to influence leaders and manage multiple prioritiesAbility to handle sensitive matters with sound judgment, professionalism, and discretionKey CompetenciesTrusted judgment in managing employee relations, sensitive workplace issues, and risk‑aware decisions with professionalism and discretionAbility to coach and influence leaders through performance challenges, investigations, and complex people decisionsStrong communication and relationship‑building skills, with the ability to partner effectively across all organizational levelsAbility to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and adapt effectively in a fast‑paced, multi‑location environmentWhat We OfferCompetitive pay and benefits, including Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K (50% Company Match) and more.Opportunity to grow within the retail divisionSupportive team environmentTraining and development opportunities
