A minimum of 2 years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity: RN - CCU Job Details: - Multiple shifts available with immediate start - Work in a mixed cardiac and medical ICU setting - Care for patients with DKA, acute respiratory failure, MIs, CABGs, ventilators, and other complex conditions - Nurse to patient ratio: 2:1 for ICU patients and 4:1 for IMCU patients - Weekend requirement: every other weekend - No on-call responsibilities - No floating required - Required certifications: Current LA RN license or current Compact state license, BLS certification from AHA, ACLS certification from AHA - Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred - One year of Critical Care experience preferred but will accept new graduates - Must attend New Nurses Orientation within first 30 days of hire - Precepted by designated trained staff member with competency validation requirements - Provide complex nursing care using the nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation - Administer medications and treatments while monitoring for side effects and effectiveness - Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided - Provide patient and family education as needed - Full-time position with temp to perm possibility Facility: This healthcare facility operates a comprehensive critical care unit that combines cardiac and medical ICU services.
