Experienced Irrigation Technician

Position OverviewResponsible for installing, testing and irrigation and sprinkler applicationsEssential Duties & ResponsibilitiesAssists in the installation of new irrigation systemsEnsures all systems work according to installation standards by performing all required testingOperates and monitors timers, clocks, and controls for sprinklersProvides repairs to irrigation systems as requiredAssists in various irrigation maintenance activities as requiredProvides winterization of irrigation systems as neededAssists landscaping crews with installation as neededOversees all irrigation related work tickets and ensures completion in accordance with the scheduleEnsures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and suppliesMaintains a clean and safe work site including proper maintenance and care of all company equipmentPromotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practicesPosition may perform other duties as assignedRequirementsEducation, Knowledge & ExperienceMinimum of a high school diploma or GEDMinimum 1 year landscape industry experience preferred, not requiredIrrigation experience preferredSkills & QualificationsCertifications as required by the stateAbility to work effectively in a team environmentAbility to perform all aspects of landscape tasks in a safe mannerAbility to manage multiple priorities/tasksWORKING CONDITIONS & EMPLOYMENT STATUSWORK ENVIRONMENTOutdoor conditionsExtended work hours during peak seasonsRequires substantial physical activity performing strenuous activities of a productive and technical nature; regular exposure to outdoor weather conditions of extreme heat and extreme cold; consistent exposure to loud noise; potential exposure to air pollution, allergens, dust, pollen, insects, and other potentially harmful naturally occurring hazards; continuous exposure to moving mechanical parts and sharp objects
